Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Legal Head with 15–20 years of experience, primarily in Real Estate domain, Lead and oversee all legal operations concerning land acquisition under the SRA framework and handle litigation and regulatory compliance under RERA. The role includes strategic negotiations, document drafting, due diligence, stakeholder liaison, and representation in courts and tribunals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Land Acquisition & Compliance
- Lead end-to-end land acquisition—including site identification, negotiations, due diligence (title, encumbrance checks), documentation, clearances, and closure—especially under SRA regulations.
- Liaise with government officials, SRA/MHADA offices, municipal bodies, and other relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with land acquisition laws and regulations such as Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, Bombay Tenancy Act, etc.
- Documentation & Transaction Structuring
- Draft, review, and negotiate key legal instruments including Sale Deeds, Development Agreements, Joint Development Agreements (JDAs), MoUs, Power of Attorneys, Conveyance Deeds, and other project-related contracts.
- Litigation Management (RERA Focus)
- Oversee litigation matters including RERA disputes, tenant disputes, land-related litigation, and appeals before tribunals and courts.
- Coordinate with and manage external counsels to ensure robust legal representation.
- Due Diligence & Risk Mitigation
- Conduct thorough legal due diligence to identify potential claims, encumbrances, or litigation risks related to property transactions.
- Regulatory Monitoring & Advisory
- Monitor evolving regulations under RERA, SRA, environmental laws, stamp duty, and property laws; provide proactive legal advice to senior leadership.
- Advise internal teams (e.g., Projects, Sales, Finance) on structuring and risk mitigation strategies.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Build, mentor, and manage the internal legal team.
- Oversee liaison with external legal firms to ensure efficient case handling and consistent legal outputs.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory

Master's Degree in Law (LLM) preferred

Additional certification in Real Estate Laws / Corporate Law / Civil Procedure will be an advantage
Preferred Skills:

In-depth knowledge of real estate documentation, SRA regulations, and litigation handling
